BREAD & CHOCOLATE
The Salon du Chocolat was pleased to host a new “Bread and Chocolate” area run by the Syndicat Patronal des Boulangers-Pâtissiers du Grand Paris (Paris Bakery and Patisserie Employers’ Federation).
The finest bakers have used chocolate to take a fresh look at the great bakery classics (baguette, “tartine”, “chouquette”, etc.). The products were made in front of the public on a stand containing a real oven.
The “Masters of Pain au Chocolat” competition, that were held on Saturday, 29th October, awarded the best "pain au chocolat" to Frédéric Pichard, a boulanger-pâtissier in the 15th arrondissement of Paris (88 rue Cambronne), following a tasting by a panel of experts: Gilles Brochard, Jean-Paul Hévin, Laurent Duchêne, Raphaële Marchal, Victoire Finaz and Aya Ito.
